Superfoods are those foods which are particularly high in nutritional value and contain little or no properties that are harmful to the health of the human body; such as saturated fats, food additives, and artificial ingredients.
Avocado- avocados are high in healthy fats and low in cholesterol. They are also a good source of dietary fiber, vitamin E and Vitamin K. Spice up your next salad and your health with delicious avocados.
Blueberries- high in anti-oxidants to eliminate those free radicals and a good source of Vitamin K and Vitamin C. Snack on these little blue marbles and improve your cardiovascular health as well as your cognitive abilities. That’s right, tests have shown that consuming blueberries improves your memory.
Spinach- Popeye has definitely figured it out! Spinach is rich in Vitamin K and Vitamin A, and contains anti-inflammatory properties. Decsreases the risk of many types of cancers and maintains bone health. This is the food that should be a part of your diet on a regular basis. Toss a spinach salad or have a green smoothie; it doesn’t matter which way you do it just make sure to get your fix.
Goji Berries- these are some truly amazing berries. They are native to China and have been believed to be a fountain of youth. They contain anti-aging properties and have been used by ancient people to decrease the risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, and age-related eye issues. These are great as a snack, in a salad, or in a smoothie.
Acai- acai is the granddaddy of all superfoods. This berry makes its way all the way from the amazon rainforest and has been known to specifically aid in weight loss. Acai is also an anti-oxidant powerhouse and contain anti-aging properties to help keep you young. The best way to enjoy this delicious superfood is to blend it up in a smoothie.
